| Drums
– Elyan "Max" Fernova |
Elyan
"Max" Fernova is the most obsessed drummer off the planet
– and we’ve got him!!
Driving
his neighbours insane with his incessant drum playing from the age
of four years old, Elyan’s path was very quickly determined.
He studied drums with Mariano Manacchi (the famous Italian Percussionist)
for three years and also studied at the Paris school of Dante Agostini.
In
1985 he toured Europe with the famous Italian band, Via Verdi and
sold over three million records worldwide with the single ‘Diamond’.
Today, Elyan "Max" Fernova teaches and performs with various
bands including Anthony Parisella & The Wise Guys.
When
asked what kind of drummer he is, Elyan’s reply was:
“I’m
still working on it! I consider myself a pop drummer; I like to
keep steady beats on the tracks, both live and in the studio. That’s
why I’ve always loved Carlos Vega and Jeff Porcaro. They are
still my main inspiration when I think in terms of playing. You
understand what they do and, to me, the main work for the drummer
is to keep a steady beat. It’s the backbone of the whole thing.”
Elyan
"Max" Fernova has worked in London, Paris, Rome, and Milan
and now resides and works in Melbourne – of course! ...What
